Peperomia otusifolia is an easy to care for tropical plant. The leaves are waxy and always keep a lush shine to them. The blooms are unique, emerging from the center leaf rosette as a long antenna-like spikes the bloom spring through fall. The Peperomia prefer 2-3 hours of direct light. Avoid intense, afternoon sun as that can burn the leaves. Best grown in an East or North facing windowsill. If you have South or West facing windows, place a couple of feet away from the window and or provide shade with a sheer curtain.

Peperomia grow in a shrub-like fashion so if and when the stems become long they are easily propagated by tip stem cuttings. Simply place a cut stem with two nodes in a glass of water and wait for it to root. Change the water weekly and plant in a small container with soil once it has a healthy root system. Fertilize: In Spring and summer, fertilize once a month with an organic houseplant fertilizer.

Found in South America.
